Recently I stepped out and bought my first ELF purchases! I purchased the undereye setting powder and a set of lashes. Today were going to be taking a closer look at that under eye setting powder.
I know its a problem area for so many of us, me included, so was automatically drawn to buying this in hope it would make my under eye bags disappear. The box says to 'apply after concealer, sweeping upward and blend' so thats exactly what I did.
The packaging is plain and simple with straight forward instructions. I brought this for $10NZD from my local k-mart store and the powder pottle is rather small as well. The back of the packet recommended that you throw this product out 6 months after opening. I like to use my make up wisely so im not continually buying more and after reading the 6 month thing I thought.. that doesn't seem like long! But after using it I would say this would last you maybe 3 months if you used it a couple times a week.
The small brush is dipped into the loose translucent powder and then brushed onto your undereye area. The brush is tiny so make sure you put it in a safe place.
I applied to both my eyes and then thought I would take an awkward selfie to show you the result:
I can definitely notice a difference and I think it does work. I am impressed with my first elf purchase! Have you used the undereye setting powder before? What is your favourite ELF product I should try?

This weeks product of the week is one that I'm so happy with. It's the australis paparazzi perfect foundation.
I ventured out a little while ago and brought it whilst browsing at my local farmers. I thought it's something new and I hasn't used an australis foundation before so was interested in putting it to the test.
It's described as "high definition which produces a flawless face". It also claims to create the perfect skin under any light. In the foundation itself it has White Sapphire soft focus pigments to make your tone appears smooth, and imperfections corrected. Also found in the foundation are Vitamin E and calendula oil, which assist to moisturise and soothe the skin. I thought if it's called paparazzi perfect it's gotta look good in photos!
I love the way that the foundation blends into your skin. It's not cakey at all. It's lightweight as well so you forget your even wearing it. It's highly pigmented and leaves you with lots of coverage so there's no need to worry about those spots. I'm quite surprised about this as it's only described as medium coverage but I found it more than enough!
I get a good 6-8 hours out of it before needing to re-apply and I don't know wether it's given me confidence or the foundation has done what it's claimed to but I do look better in photos! (No need to add a filter here!!).
The only downside is that my foundation has come out from underneath the pump so it's got a bit messy!

What foundation do you use?
I use a natio foundation for light skin. My L'oreal infallible one has just run out so I'm waiting for it to be on special to purchase again.
How about concealer?
MAC studio fx NC25! I have recently been gifted an avon concealer from the beauty swap and use this too. I probably use this more than the MAC one lately!
What do you think of fake eyelashes?
As long as they're not to over the top and you know how to apply them they look great. I wish I could apply them instead I'm to scared I'll get glue in my eyes! Haha
What brand of mascara do you use?
I have four I alternate between. MUA, Napoleon Perdis, MAC and maybelline.
Sephora or MAC?
If we had sephora here I would chose them!
What makeup tools do you use in makeup application?
Brushes and my fingertips!
Do you use makeup base/primer for the eyes?
I apply primer all over my face, including eyes. I don't have a specific eyelash primer.
For the face?
Absolutely. Not to prime is a crime!
What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
MAC and I can't remember the name. It has brown and gold mixed together topped with a little shimmer.
Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
Liquid for the top. If I line the bottom I would use pencil.
What is your favorite lipstick?
MAC royal azalea.

Do you like drugstore makeup?
Yeah to a certain extent. Drugstore has a different meaning here in NZ. Maybelline etc are drugstore brand but not drugstore prices. I'm not keen on super cheap drugstore brands like jordana.
Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
Hmmmm. Not really. Work has given me beauty knowledge and YouTube is a whole bible of tips and tricks.
Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
Yes! Smudging and bumping. Argh.
Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick,eyeshadow) or neutral ones?

It's great. Real beauty comes from within thou. I think we all love make up bit some people can be quite clicky and almost like school yard bullies and that intimidates me. But we all have a right to love make up and there's more then enough to go around!
So now I get to tag some beautiful people to do the tag!!
Fav mascara.
Many moons ago when I was traveling through Asia I saw a MAC store at duty free. Interested to see what the fuss was about MAC I asked for a versatile mascara tht provided volume and length and I was given MAC haute and naughty.
This amazing mascara has two components to it. A wand for daytime and a wand for night time. The day time brush is thinner. It provides length and seperates each individual lash so you don't get clumping.
The "night" wand has a midnight black colour and provides length like no other. It provides the highly dramatic lashes that you can get away with wearing at night time.

Favorite make up brands.
MAC do some Amazing collections and even better it's not tested on animals! I think MAC has the power to make you feel beautiful. There's a lipstick or lipgloss for everyone. My favorite MAC Products are : Riri Woo Matte Lipstick, Haute and nice mascara is amazing. It gives volume and colour like no other! And translucent powder is a must have for the handbag!
I discovered Bobbi Brown over a year ago. The more neutral tones in their lipstick appealed to me. These are more suited for the office and everyday wear. They're long lasting and the packaging even looks sophisticated!
Maybelline NY is my favouriye drugstore brand. It's easily accessible and affordable. The falsies mascara is my favourite (2nd favourite ever to MAC haute and nice) as the volume and colour it produces are too quality. The eyeliner maybelline also produces is great quality for the price you pay.
So like many girls I'm sure we all have far to much make up but we always have those few brands we always lean towards. My too 3 are : MAC, Bobbi Brown and Maybelline NY.

I’ve recently purchased ‘Maybelline NY Colorsensational high shine lipgloss‘ inMirrored Plum. Heres my view on it.
The packaging was just like a normal lipgloss. In a rectangle tube with no writing on it. It came with a slanted sponge applicator which made it very easy to apply.
It had a creamy texture and excellent pigmentation. Compared to other maybelline lipgloss’s this felt pretty hydrating and is a creamier, heavier texture. Over the day it had to be reapplied every four hours max. Its definately high shine but not long lasting. The mirrored plum color is a rich purple which is perfect for turning daytime into evening. One swipe across the lips produced enough of the purple color to be worn out.
Some positives about this product is the high shine, nice packaging and good pigmentation.
OVERALL RATING: I give it 3.5/5
I've found this little gem! The secret to winged eyeliner.
The packaging looks just like any other liquid eyeliner. Small back pointed tube with white writing. The eyeliner has more of a felt tip feel to the end of it which makes it so easy to apply ! You literally draw it on!
Applying it is easy as it glides and isn't as flimsy as a brush. Considering this colour was black the colour of the liquid was a fervent shade of black. The pigmentation is only average so I had to go over the line I created atleast twice to get the density I was after.
This eyeliner keeps it's colour got the whole day. No cracking, no smudging, no panda eyes. It stays put exactly where you hav put it. 12 hours later it still looks fresh!
POSITIVES: it does what it claims...colour stays! Very easy to use, felt tip point for application.
Negatives: the tip picks up quite a bit of excess ink when you lift it up so remember to wipe some of it back into the bottle before use, pigmentation could be just a little better.
