5 Struggles For Girls With Bottle Blonde Hair.

I think it's safe to say the old saying 'Blonde's have more fun' is somewhat to be true.

I have actually given up the struggle to maintain my blonde hair because I can't be bothered anymore and am now back to brunette.

These struggles that im going to talk to you about are all very real for people who aren't lucky enough to be born with blonde hair and dedicate hours and fund's to maintaining that golden colour.

1) It breaks the bank
Let's start with the most obvious point. The transition from brunette to brown alone will probably have to be spread across two or three salon visits alone, to get you to the shade you need. Paying for it each time you pop in can be as much as $300 NZD every six weeks. Imagine how much you would save if you put that away instead of paying the hairdresser.

2) Regrowth.
You leave the salon feeling a million bucks. Take all the selfies you want because in as little as two weeks that brunette is going to creep on back in. Because brunette is such a dark colour it is going to be super noticeable. I find you go through different stages of regrowth. At first it's like 'oh ok there it is.' Then it gets to 'I must book that appointment'. Then the next stage is 'Shit. It's bad. Have to call hairdresser.' Then finally 'Tacky'.

3) Blonde...but for how long?
You can't just be average with normal shampoo.. you need PURPLE shampoo. Again these range in price but you want something that will keep the brassiness out of your colour. BUT if you leave the shampoo in for longer than you were supposed to you can kiss your good hair day goodbye and say hello to your new hair colour....purple! Also, if you go swimming in summer or take a romantic dip in the hot tub don't be in there for too long because you may find you turning into a mermaid with green hair.

4) Your brows wont match.
Unless you remember to lighten your brows you will leave the saloon feeling on top of the world BUT you will have cruella de ville eye brow's. No one likes the look of bold black brows on a gorgoeus mop of hair and im not saying go get that bottle of bleach and whiten those babies. But do try to lighten them. Even light brown is better than black (for blondes).

5)Hair loss.
You will need to bleach the living daylight's out of your hair in order to get the colour of your dreams so you are basically frying it.  You can use product on product to try and save whats left of your hair but you will face some hair loss and thinning.

So, is it all worth it? Just to get that colour?

I think so!

Let me know if you have made the change from brunette to blonde!
