Elf on the shelf is a tradition that is fast becoming popular in many hosueholds. Pintrest has some amazing idea's so i've sat and sorted through hours worth of content to bring you the best elf on the shelf idea's that is on the interweb!
These are just some easy idea's that I think your kid will love. They take probably five minutes prep and that is it. All of these images are from pintrest so if you follow my board there by clicking here, the photo's will take you through to original authors :)

Easter time is chaotic, delicious and full on all at the same time. The joy about having children is that you get to pull out the craft box and make lot's of fun things and use them as your excuse for doing it. But on the flip side, it can be very expensive. So i've put together a few idea's that you can use that are frugal (AKA cheap) and easy. Minimum effort with maximum results, sweet!
Here's what you need ;
- A pack of pom pom's - $4.00
- Craft Glue - $2.00
- Polystyrene Eggs - $2.00
All of these were purchased at the local dollar store at the mall.
- Any felt tips, crayon's, pencils that you have scattered around the house
- Chocolate. This is the best bribery for kids. I've used it lately to get everything from my son into the car to into bed at night! This will set you over our $10 budget but it's optional and you will regret not buying them later ;)
The pom pom kit is great to stick all the bit's and bob's onto the polystyrene egg's. Let the kid's spend hour's decorating their egg and colouring it in, sticking thing's on and enjoying themselves. Anything in your craft box such as glitter, glue or pipe cleaners would work well with this.
If your children have short attention span's (like mine!) they will have more fun pulling everything off the egg that you have just stuck on.
Also, don't leave the glue at child's height for a second - he might think it is moisturiser and rub it on his face (true story).
Another cheap idea is to grab a felt tip and draw a bunny rabbit on some paper. Tell the kid's that it is a colouring in competition for them and they will be quiet for the next hour!
These were all picked up at the local dollar store at the mall and I have heard that k-mart have a great range of pre-made Easter craft packs, which I don't doubt for a second because they're amazing.
