VLOG - Summer Evening Routine

Hi babes!

This week im jumping in on the #nzblogger's blog greatness challenge and it is to take 'Celebrity Inspired' and interpret it in your own way.
This challenge is particularly fun for me as I love seeing what trends the celebs are wearing and if im game enough to wear them myself.

Lauren Conrad is a BABE. She not only runs an awesome blog but has her own clothing line and has come a long way since the days of The Hills.

Top - Boohoo , Middle - Gilded Gardens, Bottom - New Look.

Yellow is such a fabulous summer colour and the style of this dress is known as skater girl dress. I find these dresses particularly flattering on most people. They suit me a lot because I have quite big hips the skater girl doesn't cling to and it also allows for my big chest area.

You can pair this dress with some killer gladiator sandals to make for a cheap and fashionable outfit.

Are you brave enough to wear yellow? Check out the other nz bloggers in this week's challenge!

Celeb Inspired Outfit - Lauren Conrad

Hello goddesses !!

I'm sure we would all agree that in summer we all want to look like we're naturally golden and glowing. But if there's one thing I've learnt over the years, is that it's always best to "fake it not bake it" .

My preferred way to achieve a good tan is spray tanning. A friend of mine actually has a spray tanning machine and only charges $15 for one. So being affordable and long lasting these are for me.

However I can't always book in with her so that's when I turn to my self tanners.

L-R: Whipped Dream Napoleon Perdis, Coconut Passion Victoria Secret, Neutrogena sun fresh
Bronze Buffer.

All of these do different things.  Neutrogena is very light coverage for every day tanning, napoleon perdis has more shimmer to it than colour pigmentation and victoria secret is a dark tan with high pigmentation. Of course I mix these in with a little moisturiser to ensure they go on smoothly.

So step one : Mix a combination of tan and moisturizer in the palm of your hand. If I'm using the VS one , I'm normally 50:50 however if I'm using Neutrogena I'm 70:30.

Step two: Apply evenly over your area you want to cover (ie legs), well, as evenly as you can! Make sure you take extra care over area's such as elbows, knees and ankles. These are particularly easy to turn orange.

My hands can look quite bad after applying tan!

Step three: Using a damp Bronze Buffer*, Gently wipe area's that have turned streaky, uneven or orange. This allows you to fix them asap! So you can relax a little more when applying tan, knowing that the bronze buffer is there to help you!
The Bronze Buffer is available from complexions by clicking here.

Step four: Be the bronze goddess you are! After you wait for it to dry you are able to carry on with your normal day to day task :)

Bronze Buffer
After use. Shows just how well it gets the tan off!

Let me know what your favourite tanning products are and if you love the bronze buffer too!!

JoJo's Little Black Dress // Review

Hi mamacitas!

The little black dress is a wardrobe staple. It can be used in many situations ranging from formal dinners to just putting it on to make you feel good. JoJo's Little Black Dress has kindly sent me one of their dresses to review for you!

JoJo's Little Black Dress is giving back and paying it forward...one dress at a time! Inspired by her mum, Jojo's Little Black Dress is perfect for mum's and is affordable for anyone's budget. All of Jojo's dresses are limited quantity and are not repeated. All dresses are only $35 each!

Fresh from the New York City Fashion District, Jojo has a range of sizes from 4 - 24 to suit everyone's body type! Shipping is a flat rate of only $18 internationally and it only took 8 days to arrive here in New Zealand.

The dress I was sent was the Sleeveless Ruffle Dress in Medium. Here's how it looked:

JoJo's Little Black Dress

My first impression of this dress was how delicate the fabric was. It was so soft when I put it on and did not aggrivate my skin at all.

I really liked the shape of the dress, how it gathers together under the bust and then flows completely. The ruffles add nice detail to the plunging neckline. The back of the dress gathers around your hips and then free falls down to just below the knee. It is easy to hide the mummy tummy in this little number.

JoJo's Little Black Dress

I wore this to a little girl's second birthday party on New Years Day and received many compliments on it. People were so shocked that such a gorgeous dress fresh out of Manhattan could be so affordable!

As a Mum I understand how easy it is to feel frumpy, and so does Jojo, so do yourself a favour and purchase one of her limited design dresses. It will become a wardrobe staple for many future events!

You can find Jojo's little black dress's website here, facebook, twitter, instagram and pintrest.

Have you got your little black dress sorted? xx

NEW! JoJo's Little Black Dress // Review

Hola beautiful readers!

How are you? I hope your all doing well!

Recently I paid  a trip back home to Hawkes Bay in the north island where my family are, and my beautiful sister had brought some awesome dresses of Boohoo. For those of you who haven't used Boohoo before where have you been!?

Its an on line shopping website that ships internationally and has very affordable clothes. Shipping is cheap and I think at the moment if you spend over $30 its free. Once your items are shipped it generally takes about 14 days to get here, so not too bad! They also charge your credit card in NZD so there's no nasty extra fees. I do love the range of clothing they stock and brought a few dresses when I was a Skinny Minnie, however now that I've had a baby and have a few extra curves I need to update my stash!

Before we start! You will have to excuse the eyes being closed in the photo's. I didn't realise until I had left her and I'm not great at photo shop so can't magically open them! x

Kelly Striped Panel Shift Dress in Lime.

This dress is so beautiful. I love the contrast you get from the bold lime right next to the statement black. Colour blocking has been a trend for a while and these colours are perfect for the summer days. This dress comes in a great size range from UK 6 right through to a 14. It is also available in three different colours. The bottom section can either be Coral Orange, Cobalt Blue or Lime Green. It retails for $20.00 NZD and you can find the link for it here.

Natasha wears the dress in Lime Green in size 8.

Brooke Paisley Shift Dress Multi

This beautiful dress is channelling bold prints and reviving the good bits of what the nineties left behind. The feminine look of the dress combines with the soft fabric and floral prints make this a perfect staple for your summer wardrobe.I love the contrast between the dark blue with white patterns on top of it.  This dress is available in all sizes from a UK 6 through to a 16 and is available with just the one colour. It retails for $25.00 NZD and can also be found by clicking here.

So there are the two dresses my beautiful sister has added to her collection. What have you recently brought from Boohoo? Send me the links below in the comments and I will be sure to check it out!

Boohoo haul

Hi gal pals,

So my best friend is getting married. Woohoo! And her hens night is in January. I'm fortunate enough to be a bridesmaid and so with that comes collaborating with her maid of honor (MOH) for the big hens night. Now don't get me wrong I love my bestie, she's god mother to my son, but this event is going to be bigger than Kim kardashians wedding.

Now MOH is having a garden party during the day for bride, mother in law, family etc so what you would typically wear to a hens night is totes inapropes. So let's look at our options.

Classic glamour.
This classic glamour look is inspired by Lauren Conrad. To me her brand is everything garden party and pretty. Soft brown toned eyeshadow on a pure foundationed face (is foundation even a word? Is now!). Simple bronzer applied in the shape of a 3 to give definition to those cheekbones and make the face look longer. A bold, classic, statement red lip to finish it off.

The pastels
This pastel look is using the more softer colours. Soft eyes with a light eyeshadow dusted onto the eye lids. Bold mascara used to lengthen the lashes on the top and bottom. Blush is applied to the cheeks to give a feminine, summer touch. Followed by a pastel pink or purple on the lips.

So these are my two looks that I have in mind for the day time aspect, or garden party, were having. I'm yet to decide on a dress but no doubt it will be accompanied by a floral headpiece. What would you chose? Do you have other ideas that I could wear?

This is actually how the hens night makes me feel!
