trends
Hi beautiful!
For those of you who follow my blog you will know that this year I embarked on a career in bridal and became a bridal stylist. From day one I fell in love. Not only is it about finding the correct shape for the persons body, but learning about the designers and the fabrics that they all use.
With dresses that are being brought now for this summer I thought it was only fitting to share some popular trends with you of what we are going to be seeing alot of...especially in February!
Lace
Lace was once known as the fabric of poor people and not associated with wealth, HOWEVER this has totally changed to the opposite end of the scale. Lace is one of the most popular styles this season and with New York designers like Justin Alexander producing gowns that have intricate lace detailing, it definately gives the wow effect!

Sweetheart necklines
A sweetheart neckline is suitable for so many different brides this season and flatters most body shapes. It supports those bigger busted girls (Holla!) and also draws attention to your decollatage. Sweetheart dresses are perfect if your wanting to accessorize with jewelry leaving the neckline open to a blingy necklace of your choice.
Mermaid
When someone first told me that they were wearing a mermaid dress I instantly thought 80 ' s fashion and shoulder pads. Thank goodness that the mermaid is now a more sophisticated look! This shape emphasizes the hourglass body shape superbly. With a tight fit all the way until down the legs when it flares out in a beautiful fin shape. These mermaid style dresses come with a range of different necklines too.
My personal favorite is the boat neckline with the mermaid dress.

Fashion weeks all over the world are some of the most exciting times of the year. I LOVE following the main cities like Milan, Paris and even London.
I picked up a few things out of London Fashion Week recently and I think these will be the big trends for our Autumn/Winter '15.
- Turtle necks are back.
Remember in the 90's how you cringed when your mum made you wear your turtle neck outside because it was so cold? well, now it's fashion darling! Popular designer Erdem showcased them on the catwalk as a mini polo-neck style dress. Sounds, urm, interesting doesn't it!
- Geek Chic
Big names in the fashion world like Gucci have taken us back to the classroom. Designer Orla Kiely even showed off her collection this year in a library. Now has never been a better time to pull out your glasses. Back in my day you would have been bullied for wearing them, but now you will be in style.

- Embrace the black lippy
This is going to be so hard for me personally to embrace, as I love nothing more than a bright coloured lip. But it's all about being dark and mysterious this winter. It kind of feels gloomy and I guess with the weather cooling it will get kind of dark. Here's a MOTD with a black lippy I recently tried (and to my surprise it actually looked OK. I wore it to the supermarket and no one said anything nasty, success!)

- Bubblegum jackets
I fell like I am contradicting myself with this statement considering I just said that black lippy was in! But believe it or not it's all about the candy pink coats. Bubblegum purple is another colour popping coat colour were sure to see a lot of.

- Stripes for life.
Horizontal, Vertical or Parallel.. it's all good! Stripes in any shape or colour are a go to outfit staple this winter. It's a nice way to add texture to an outfit without trying to hard.
So keep the make up dark and mysterious but brighten your outfit with a cute coat.
The only trend I'm unsure I'll be able to pull off the is turtle neck shirt!
What will you be wearing this winter? xxx
Aloha babes,
So for us here in New Zealand we're getting pretty excited because Spring is approaching. That means blossoms, warmer weather and not having to have the heat pump constantly on all day. It also means that our make up changes so why not take a closer look at my Spring Make Up Essential list!
Tinted moisturizer/BB Cream
These are just so gorgeous. They are the perfect head peice for a cup day outfit, the races or a garden party. They have such beautiful colours and are so feminine. Spirits your favourite perfume on it to give an extra touch.
What are you going to be wearing this spring?

- Mascara
- Sunscreen
Super important to be protected against those nasty uv rays whenever your outside. I'm guilty myself of not wearing it when it's cloudy and to often that is when I get burnt! So make sure that your applying every 3 hours or so and take extra note if your sunscreen is water resistant.
- Lipstick
Spring is great because you have so many choices of what lipstick you could wear. Beautiful floral purple and pinks, if your brave you could try a yellow or a bright orange. It's the time to start adding a pop of colour on your lips and start feeling positive, that vitamin d does wonders for our attitudes.

So for those of you who don't know it's currently winter here and it's so bleak! I'm full of a cold and feeling sorry for myself.
One thing that I do like about winter is the fashion. Layering it up and big coats. This year tartan takes the stage.
St Laurent, givency, mulberry and Versace all showcased it on the runway. Now were going to have a wee look at different ways in which you can pull of tartan for an every day look.
The tartan dress.
Because the tartan dress is such a bold print you want to keep it the focus point of your outfit. Pair it with a black leather jacket, stockings and knee length boots and your runway ready for work!

The tartan scarf.
Especially in winter we need to keep warm and a scarf is not only cosy but a great way to change up your outfit.

When we think of Tartan the colour red comes to mind but its important to know that tartan refers to the print not the colour and you can find it in many colours that suit you!

I looooove this outfit! But maybe not for the middle of winter!
