Hi babes,
I was lucky enough to be sent some samples of smashbox's photo ready primer and was over the moon as my must have make up item is a primer. I'm a loyal MAC strobe cream user so was interested to trial smashbox's version.
The primer promises a perfect canvas for flawless foundation application. The texture of Smashbox's primer is quite different to the Strobe Cream. It is a lot silkier and almost gel like, it glides on very easily and blends into your skin well. I sometimes struggle to blend primer in completely on my forehead as that's where a few of my fine lines are, but I have no problem with this one.
I noticed with this primer it creates more of an even base for my foundation, as I have a bit of redness on my face. I also noticed the most difference when I applied a matte foundation over top compared to my normal daily foundation. My face looked smooth all around! I think this primer also suits dry - normal skin and for those who have an uneven skin tone!
This to me is like the 'perfect blur' product that garnier has brought out and the many similar companies. Sephora's website states that this product is the original blur - and perfect for priming.
Best time to use photo ready primer? That would be after you have moisturised your face, prime and then apply your foundation as normal.
What are some other fantastic primers out there on the market? I would love to know what you use! Also what are some good drugstore dupes?
xx
