While we don't celebrate it here in New Zealand, I thought it would be a nice opportunity to take a look at a few things that I am great full for. I believe that you get back from the universe what you put out so there is never any harm in showing your gratitude for something/someone!
1) My son.
I don't like to publish too much about my son because I think he deserves privacy. I've chosen to share things on social media and my blog about my self and if he wants to when he's older that's fine. But you can't un share things so were very conscious about what my partner and I put up.
Anyway, he is the apple of my eye. Honestly, having a child opens you up to a whole new level of love that can't be described. I will never forget that feeling when I first met him and held him in my arms. He teaches me to be happy at the simplest things and to always use my manners. Hes at such a fun age I honestly think of him as a friend and wouldn't change our special moments for anything!
2) Concealer.
This may seem like something funny to include in my list but as sleep deprived as I am, concealer is a must! It can be so affordable yet it just changes how awake you look in an instant!
3) My family.
Extended, near, far or close. Family is family and im a huge lover in the line from a kanye west song that says 'Is a house really a home if your loved ones are gone?'. I have amazing support from my partner when it comes to blogging. He sometimes doesn't understand what it's all about but he will always be the photographer for my shoot, or drive me to exciting locations to shoot. Family also help out when I need support in any part of my life and are amazing.
4) The blogging community.
I love how many blogging friends I have made. What I especially love in NZ is that 90% of us are about helping each other rather than competing. Were always willing to help out with media kit tips, PR contacts, SEO tricks and so much more. The support that there is out there is just fantastic and it has encouraged me to continue blogging. Im sure I would have given up along time ago if it wasn't for them!
5) My cat.
I am a crazy cat lady. It's simple. We adopted a black cat from the SPCA four years ago and named the cat 'smooch' and she is still with us today. When I was pregnant, in the week before I went into labour, she wouldn't leave my side. Followed me everywhere. If I went to work she would wait for me at the window until I returned so I knew something was going to happen! She is the most patient cat and never once has scratched my son, even when he wakes up and pulls her tail! If my son is crying and having a meltdown, the cat is constantly meowing too! Shes a special thing!
What are you great full for this year? Id love to hear what makes you happy!
