I hope you were all spoilt with makeup, chocolate, wine and love over the holidays and are ready to tackle 2017 head on. 

Late last year I received an email about The Balm now being stocked in Unichem pharmacies around New Zealand and I was so thrilled to hear it. 2016 was a huge breakthrough year for make up lovers in New Zealand as we had the first Mecca Maxima open and now The Balm being stocked in pharmacies which meant there were brands that were now a whole lot more accessible. 

I've always loved products by theBalm the past and the main reason I was first attracted to them was for their cheeky and flirty product names. Unichem pharmacies around the country are stocking the full range of the Balm so you can explore their many products.

I was super lucky enough to be sent a lip gloss by the balm in the shade Pop!

Its part of the 'read my lips'' lip gloss collection which has a range of 11 different glosses which are all infused with Ginseng. 

The first thing I noticed when I opened the gloss was the fruity scent to it. It smelt fresh and fruity which reminded me of summer. The colour of 'Pop!' is orange. While it looks a very dense orange in the tube, when you apply it on your lips it is quite opaque. By lipgloss standards it is more pigmented than most other glosses out there on the market. It comes with a little sponge applicator on the end which is super soft.

I like that it is opaque as you can build it up to the colour your after. The gloss isn't sticky like some lip glosses are and doesn't dry out my lips at all. It lasts for around an hour before you need to re apply it. 

My advice for wearing this is to use it over top of a lipstick to add some shine to it. It pairs really nicely with pink and red lipsticks. 

I'll be chucking this in my handbag for summer as it's nice to have on hand for when you need a quick top up.
