Good morning mamacitas!
Mum's have it hard enough as it is. Mum guilt is always creeping along wherever it sees a small gap of opportunity and we dwell on everything for longer than we should.
We get a hard time if we put the kids into care and have to work to support our family but also we get a hard time from society if we stay at home with the kids.
I fell into the trap when people would ask what I do for a living I would say 'Oh, I'm just a mum' and it wasn't until one stranger at a friends wedding said 'Just a mum! Just! The most important job ever!' that I was like yeah you know, it's enough.
I felt like I needed to dwell it down with saying JUST a mum. As if I wasn't as good as the person next to me who worked full/part time. But truth be told, it's enough. It's not a paid employment role and it's not something we can switch off to at the end of the day. It's a LIFESTYLE.
No holiday pay, no sick pay, nothing. It's everything and always. While wearing many hats. This week I have been a mediator, nurse, counsellor, dietitian, accountant, taxi driver, teacher - the list goes on!
When someone asks what you have done that day and you honestly did just not have the energy to take yourself and a small army out of the house, so be it! It is enough that you kept those kids alive and everyone has gone to bed happy. You are enough.

So next time you feel like your just a mum, remember you are enough.
