International Guest Series - Meet the bblogger/MUA

Hi baby dandelions! Today we have the gorgeous Toni from Honeypot Blogs. See below her make up tips and tricks xx

x Describe yourself in five words
 A beauty and lifestyle blogger

× Where in the world are you based?
I'm based in the UK

× What made you decide to get into blogging/MUA
I've always loved writing and actually have a degree in Journalism, however I just decided that I needed a hobby that would spike my interest.

× What has been your favourite look you've created?
I don't actually have pictures of my face on my blog so I don't really do "make up looks", but I like the Sleek eye palettes to make some really nice eye looks. It's all about the eyes with me.

× What is your favourite beauty product at the moment?
I'm really loving the NIP+FAB Glycolic Fix skincare range, it really is amazing!

× What piece of make up advice have you been given that you swear by?
A really simple one, but drinking a lot of water to improve the overall appearance of my skin

× What do you think the biggest beauty myth is?
That you need to spend a crazy amount of money on make up to look good. I think providing you have the right tools, highstreet/drugstore make up is just as good and at a fraction of the cost

× What has been the best part about blogging?
Easily the community, some bloggers are just so lovely. But also I think it's building my confidence in writing once again.

× where can our readers find you?
You can find me at www.honeypotblogs.com

International Guest Series // Meet the blogger

Hi beautiful petals! Today's guest poster is the beautiful Make Up Mama. Shes sassy and fun and has answered all of these questions so honestly!

Describe yourself in five words?
Creative, Caring, Honest, Dedicated and Hardworking.

Where are you based?
USA

What made you decide to get into blogging/MUA?
Make up has always been a passion. Ive been doing make overs on anyone that I could get my hands
on since I was a little girl. You never know what life has instore for you, while I would love to do make up full time at the moment it's just not feasable. I never want to give up on my passion so I found blogging to be the best of both worlds. As a busy  mom it is sometimes hard to find the correct balance between what makes you happy and whats best for your family. Blogging allows me to continue to do what makes me happy without sacrafising precious famiy time.

What has been your favourite look you have created?
As far looks on my blog? I'm really partial to smokey eyes, I love the pink smokey I look I did. My favorite look that I've created on someone else has to anything bridal. I love bridal makeup, for someone to let you take part in such a special day is a big deal, and an honor.

What is your favourite beauty product at the moment?
My favorite part of any makeup routine is the foundation. Right now I'm really loving Revlon Colorstay, I don't know why I didn't try it sooner. It has such a nice finish and it lasts all day long

What piece of make up advice fo you swear by?
Wash your makeup off and moisturize! These 2 easy steps can much such a huge difference in how your makeup goes on. I know a lot of people are hesitant about moisturizing because they feel like it might make their skin oily, but that's not the case. Sometimes skin produces excess oil because it needs moisture, moisturizing can help this!

What do you think the biggest beauty myth is?
The biggest beauty myth has got to be that their is a "proper" or "right" way to apply certain products. I see lots of tutorials that make it seem like their is only one right way to apply products and that's just not true. I think there are many tips and tricks that can make different applications easier or quicker but don't feel like that's the only way to do it. Makeup is art form and it should be applied in a manner that suits you.

What is the best part about blogging?
The best part of blogging has be to being able to interact with readers from all over the world. I love knowing that someone found a tip I shared useful or that someone liked a look I created.

Any last comments?
I'd like to thank Analesha for including me in this series. I'm honored that she has chosen to interview me.

International Guest Series - Meet the bblogger/MUA

Today we have the gorgeous Filipa here to fill you in on her beauty secrets! Go check out her beautiful blog! xx

x Describe yourself in five words.

Five words to describe myself that's tough! I guess I'm friendly, funny, distracted, shopaholic and chatty.

xWhere in the world are you based?

I'm based in Lisbon, Portugal.

xWhat made you decide to get into blogging/MUA? ?

I started blogging recently because I think it's a good way to share my little knowledge about subjects I'm passionate about like fashion and beauty. Also it's a good way to meet new people from all over the world that have the same interests as I do.

xWhat has been your favourite look you've created?

The no makeup make up look, it's fresh, simple and only takes 5 min.

xWhat is your favourite beauty product at the moment?

I have to say Nude Magic BB concealer from L'Oréal I'm just obsessed with it for the last 4 months.

xWhat piece of make up advice have you been given that you swear by?

Apply a generous amont of eye cream to your under eye and let it absorb. Before you put you concealer apply a thin layer  of eye primer. This is the best way to keep your concealer from creasing up on you.

xWhat do you think the biggest beauty myth is?

Cucumber slices on the eyes, the cold from the cucumber helps with the swelling but ice or a cold spoon also works.

x What has been the best part about blogging/v logging?

The best part for me is meeting new people and getting the chance to work with other amazing bloggers like yourself.

x Any last comments you would like to add?

I just wanna thank you for this opportunity it was my pleasure to be interviewed by you and I hope we will do a collaboration soon.

International Guest Series - Meet the blogger/MUA

Hi babes! Today we have the beautiful Jaz here from Sweetaholic Beauty to tell you all her blogging secrets, hehe. Make sure you pop over to her blog because it is truly amazing! xx

x Describe yourself in five words.
Eclectic. Happy. Easy-going. (Two words, oops!) Loving. Bootylicious.

xWhere in the world are you based?
Melbourne, Australia

x What made you decide to get into blogging/MUA? ?
My sister and I were always interested in beauty and makeup growing up, so we were constantly doing each other's makeup and hair. Once I moved out of home and no longer lived with my sister, I started up blogging about my passion as a hobby.

× What has been your favourite look you've created?
Probably a Barbie look I did for a makeup challenge. I loved this look and wish I could wear it all the time!

× What is your favourite beauty product at the moment?
Wow, that's a tough question! At the moment I'm loving the Covergirl Outlast foundation.

× What piece of make up advice have you been given that you swear by?
I can't really think of anything in particular, but something I always do is finish off my makeup with setting powder to make it stay long. Growing up, I never knew this and only learnt it in my early adult years - it definitely changed the way I wore makeup!

×What do you think the biggest beauty myth is?
Expensive makeup products are better than cheap products! This is such a lie... I have tried high end mascara from a brand I won't mention, and it was terrible. Yet an Essence mascara does wonders for me!

× What has been the best part about blogging/v logging?
The community! All the friends I have made from blogging makes things so much more worth while. Everyone is so accepting and supportive, and it's so wonderful to see other bloggers grow.

× Any last comments you would like to add?
If you love beauty, and you love blogging/vlogging but are too scared or are not sure where to start... my advice would be to just jump right in! The community is amazingly accepting of new talent and we're always looking for new friends! There is help around every corner :)

International Guest Series - Meet the bblogger/MUA

Hi beauties! Today we have the absolutely gorgeous Charlotte here to meet you. Make sure you pop over and check out her blog too! Enjoy xx

Hello everyone! I’m Charlotte and my blog is ‘Vanity Fairest-x’ where I write about my favourite beauty products with the occasional fashion and lifestyle post!

× Describe yourself in five words.
Girly, Witty, Friendly, Passionate and Loyal - all of which I hope you can see throughout my blogJ

× Where in the world are you based?
I'm currently living in Essex in the UK.

× What made you decide to get into blogging/MUA??
Beauty has always been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember and I'd always read make up reviews on a website called 'MakeupAlley' I then discovered the blogging world from there and I thought to myself I could do this and I’ve not looked back since! Creating my blog is one of the best things I’ve ever done.

× What has been your favourite look you've created?
A few years ago, before my blog, I created a special effects Zombie make up look on one of my friends for Halloween. I was chuffed withthe final result, if I do say so myself ha, the picture quality wasn’t the greatest though as it was taken on an iPhone 3 (that’s how long ago it was!) I think I may have to recreate this look seeing as it’s appropriate with the time of year and all.

× What is your favourite beauty product at the moment?
Ooo this is a tricky one! I recently brought a 32 eye shadow palette from Makeup Revolution for the bargainous price of £8.00 and I LOVE it. It has a mixture of matte and shimmer shadows which are all super pigmented and the staying power is amazing. I’d definitely have to say that this is my current make up love and recent best buy.

× What piece of make up advice have you been given that you swear by?
Always to take off your make up before bed and have a good skin care routine. As soon as I started wearing make up my Mum got me intothe whole cleanse, tone and moisturise routine and I do have to thank her for this as I’m pretty sure this is the reason why my skin is theway it is now. After all your face needs a beauty canvas to start with doesn’t it?

× What do you think the biggest beauty myth is?
Having worked in the beauty industry for the past 4 years there are many myths I have come across. It’s been a hard decision to narrow it down to only one but the one I’ve chosen is one of the most important and one I come across on a daily basis. ‘You can’t put oil on oily skin’ This is so untrue. I’m going to get my beauty therapist head on now and tell you why. Many people who have an oily skin type over cleanse and scrub their skin to within an inch of its life in hope that this will banish the oiliness. This is the worst thing you could do. By doing this you’re striping your skin’s natural oil so it will produce more sebum (which clogs pores and causes breakouts) to compensate. It’s a vicious circle and I’ve met many clients of all ages and genders who have done this and the end result always is that it’s much worse than what it was to begin with. I always recommend them to use a facial oil and it always does the trick! By using this it restores and balances those overactive sebaceous glands resulting in much smoother, clearer and healthier skin as it’s an amazing moisturiser and treatment!

× What has been the best part about blogging/vlogging?
The blogging community. Everyone is so friendly and supportive of each other; I’ve made lots of good friends through blogging. I could ramble on for hours and hours about beauty products so I love that I can talk to like-minded others.

× Any last comments you would like to add?
I'd like to thank Analesha for asking me to be apart of this series. I love your blog so was thrilled when you asked me to be apart of this – thank you!

International Series - Meet the Bblogger/MUA

Hi lovelies! Over the next few days i''ll be intorducing you to a different make up artist or blogger from all over the world. These are guest posts while im away on vacay! First up is the beautiful Claire from Wellington!

× Describe yourself in five words

Perfectionist, dreamer, crazy, nerd, obsessive

×Where in the world are you based?

Wellington, New Zealand! I wish I was somewhere warmer though - I'm such a summer lover

× What made you decide to get into blogging/MUA?

I've always been obsessed with beauty and makeup. I bought my first foundation when I was 13 and I wore it to death (I'm pretty sure it was too dark for me but oh well! I studied beauty therapy in 2012 and graduated in December of that year. I struggled to find a job that fit around my two little boys as beauty therapists often have to start early and finish late. Instead of giving up on what I love I decided to approach it in a different way by writing about beauty. I've always been good at English and I find I express myself best through written words so it was the perfect fit. I designed my blog myself over a couple of months and I'm so happy with it! I did branch out into makeup artistry for a little while but I couldn't afford to launch my own business at that time so I put it on the back burner. Maybe one day I'll get back into it but for now the only makeup I do is on myself =)

× What was your inspiration behind the group "beauty haven"?

I was originally a member of another beauty group on Facebook and I didn't like the vibe of it. My friend Kathryn from KJ Makeup Artistry suggested we start our own beauty group and so Beauty Haven was born!

×What does "beauty haven" aim to be?

Beauty Haven aims to be a safe and supportive place for women to discuss anything and everything beauty related without feeling judged. Both Kathryn and I are very active admins and we answer every question that comes our way. We don't tolerate any bullying and we want all of our members to feel happy and welcome.
You can join beauty hevan here https://www.facebook.com/groups/beautyhavennz/?fref=ts

× What is your favourite beauty product at the moment?

I am head over heels in love with MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme in Dirty Blonde. I have my brows tattooed but I still love a super defined brow when doing my makeup. This product is absolutely incredible, it dries almost instantly and it stays put ALL DAY - it also holds your brows in place so there's no need for any sort of setting gel. I've tried the Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade as well and this one kicks its butt! I've finally found my holy grail brow product.

× What piece of make up advice have you been given that you swear by?

This is a hard question for me as I am the worst person at taking advice. I sort of switch off because I like to think that I know best & I prefer to give advice to others than take it! I think the best advise I remember getting was to get the right shade of foundation. When I was a teenager I would buy foundation that was too dark for me simply because I wanted the same shade as my friend. Which is pretty stupid really! Always buy the right shade of foundation!

×What do you think the biggest beauty myth is?

That eyebrows should be sisters not twins! Why should my brows be sisters? I aim for twins every time!

× What has been the best part about blogging?

I absolutely love knowing that people enjoy what I write. I'd keep writing even if I only had one reader who loves my posts. Getting feedback from people letting me know that they've learned something new from me or they love my makeup - that's what it's about.
