Hey babes,
Recently i've been a bridesmaid to my best friend and with that comes the duty of organising a hens night. The Maid of Honor (MOH) wanted to throw a bridal shower and I was quite unfamiliar with that term.
I had only ever heard of American's having bridal showers in replace of a traditional hens night. But it was a nice touch before the main event of a hens night.
The way we looked at it was as if it was a garden party.
Thankfully we were very lucky and had a beautiful sunny day with highs of 30 degrees celcius.
A vase full of flowers made a nice centrepiece. We had a little notepad where guests could write small notes to the bride to be next to it. |
All our chairs were in a circle so everyone could talk to each other. Streamers were drapped through trees and on backs of chairs aswell. |
Here is a panoramic of our setting. Colourful flowers and lanterns hanging from the tree's made for a pintrest like setting. |
We served finger food which included spring rolls, bacon and egg pie, samosas, sausage rolls, crisps and nuts.
We also served white wine spritsers (which were so gross) and orange juice.
Another important part of the day is games. First we played the game Wedding Dress Coture.
The aim was to make the best wedding dress in 15 minutes using only celotape and newspaper.
Then, the brides mother in law to be spoke to her about the 'spice of life' and what properties each spice had in them. It was a nice touch and alot of effort was put in on her part.
Finally we finished our bridal shower with a round of Ellen De Generes game of Heads Up. It was hilarious and great to get everyone working together as a team, and full of laughter!
I am a huge believer in music setting the mood for any event so I worked hard to set the theme with some tunes. Below are some of the music I had which worked well.
* Six 60 - Special
* Brendon and Leah - Life Happens
* Katy Perry does some great acoustic covers of electic feel, black and gold
*Shake it off - Taylor Swift
* Happy - Pharrell Williams
*Don't forget your roots - six60
The bride has censored all photos of the hens night so unfortunately I can't show you that, but from what I remembered it was good.
Below are a few other snaps from the day. Look out for my bridal bootcamp series coming soon!
