The Perfect RiRi Woo Dupe?

Hey you sexy thaaaang,

We all know that sometime's spending a bit more money means getting a better product. ..but not all the time. There is a stigma that because some make up is considered cheap that it is bad quality, but not always.

Two reds I'm constantly reaching for are Rimmel London Kate Moss Kiss Of Life (111) and Riri Woo by Mac. They are both very similar products so I'm going to compare them for you to see which is better for getting your money's worth. I also think this is a great drugstore dupe for RiRi Woo.

MAC RiRi Woo Dupe

The packaging of RiRi Woo is in MAC's signature little black bullet. It is sleek and small which also looks quite classy. Kiss Of Life is in slightly bigger  tube than RiRi Woo. I suppose you could even say it's a little chunky. Kiss of Life also has a slanted tip and the signature Rimmel crown embedded on top.

Both of these lippy's are very similar in the application of the actual lipstick. They glide on very smoothly. Kiss Of Life is probably a little more creamier and moisturising, as the MAC tends to dry out when it sets to a mat finish.

The staying power of these two are again very similar. Rimmel has around 3 hours of brightness while with MAC I generally get 4 to 5. Both lipstick's are VERY pigmented which is what I like.
As you can see from the swatch, the colour is almost identical.

Both of these lipsticks transfer a little, even though they are both matte finishes. However I lost more of my Kiss Of Life to my coffee cup than RiRi Woo. It transferred so much I felt the need to re apply.

The two main things to consider with these two lipstick's are price and accessibility. There is quite a significant price difference with these. Rimmel London retails for around $24NZD while MAC is around $45NZD for limited edition. Also, Rimmel is stocked in most farmer's, kmart's and some warehouse store's where as MAC you need to visit Ballintynes, the mac store or order online.

So basically they are both great lipsticks. While I'm conscious of the price and accessibility of these, I think Kate Moss is great for every day wear as you can afford to use more of it often, and save the MAC for special occasions.

Do you have another great dupe for RiRi Woo? How do you find the Kate Moss lipstick's?

  1. Those two are really similar!! Never tried Mac lippy's before but I think maybe the Australis NY-CEE velourlips would be similar too!

  5. I haven't found any of the ones I have to be too drying. They only really go yucky dry if I haven't been moisturising my lips, or have flakey bits!
