Maybelline The Elixer - Signature Scarlett
This red is probably the glossiest of the five of them. It's a very bright red with a high shine finish. What I like about this one is that even though it is so glossy, it isn't drying. The shine also lasts for about 90 minutes before you need to reapply.
MAC Riri Woo
This is my favourite red lipstick everrrr. It is such a statement color and I love how quickly it dry's to a matte finish. Not only does it glide on very smoothly, but it also has decent staying power. The fact that it is part of Rihanna's collection for MAC make's it even more appealing to me, i'm a sucker for limited edition.
LA Girl
Im unable to find the name of this shade but it is the brightest red of the lot. This one is quite slippery and needs to be applied with a steady hand because it smudges and stains very easily. Once you have applied it nicely it dries to a nice matte finish.
Maybelline Super Stay 575 Red
This is a nice red for everyday wear. It has more orange tones to it and is very smooth to apply. I find the slanted tip of the lipstick is the right size for my lips (Is that a wierd observation!?) so application is easy. You also have a few seconds to fix up any mistakes before it drys completely.
Yves Saint Laurent 040
First let's take a moment to appreciate the beautiful packaging. Shiny, simple and classy. LOVE IT. This red lipstick has purple and blue tones in it and isn't as bright as the other's. I still really enjoy wearing this on special occasion's and it looks gorgeous in my lipstick stand. This one would suit those of you with more olive and tanner complexion's than the red's previously mentioned.

ReplyDeleteThe YSL lipstick looks actually amazing, I've been dying to try one for ages! The packaging is just too beautiful. The Maybelline ones look like good cheaper options though too :) I personally love the Rimmel Kate Moss red lipsticks, especially 107.
