#GIRLBOSS Book Review

#GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amuroso is the no bullshit guide to taking ownership in your life.

#GIRLBOSS tells the story of how hard work and determination can really pay off. Starting at the beginning when her parents are getting a divorce and revealing everything about her rebellious stage of life to the early days of nasty gal, the theme that remains the same throughout the entire book is owning your goals.

There is no doubt that Sophia is a clever business woman. #GIRLBOSS is somewhere in between a how - to - guide book for businesses and a memoir of her life. There are success stories included at the end of each chapter which are no doubt inspiring.

The tone that Sophia talk in throughout the book is very nice and made me appreciate her. By nice, I mean that it wasn't patronising and also empowering. There is no doubt that the theme throughout the book is hard work pays off.

I was hooked for the most part of the book and took notes on the important things I found. However as the last few chapters approached I found myself loosing intereset and skim reading.

Three things I have learnt from reading girls boss are, one - don't be ashamed of your dreams. Haters Goin hate anyway! Two - you don't get anywhere without a bit of hard work and three - good things take time. #girlboss can relate to anyone. Even though it is based on the fashion industry you can apply the lessons learnt to anything you do. Whether it's blogging or running a cupcake business this is a must read book! Three - Speak up. Be your own cheerleader because if you aren't then who will be?

I recommend this book to anyone who wants a little encouragement to chase their dreams. You can pick it up from all good bookstores.
