Nanny Confidential by Philippa Christian is a book that I've had my eye on for quite some time.
The thought of hearing juicy stories from some of Hollywood's biggest celebrities all while trying to guess who they were sounded like something light and easy for me to read before bed
.
Nanny Confidential is a deliciously gossipy novel about the rich and famous from the nanny who has seen it all.
I enjoyed reading this book and finding out about all the elaborate things that go on behind closed doors. There were stories of a reality film crew coming into the house and elaborate cover up's to hide affair's from the paparazzi. I was a little disappointed to find this book in the fiction department as I thought it would be more a memoir of a nanny's career however, I enjoyed it never the less.
The stories are quite believable even though some are quite elaborate. However, at one point in the book I felt like she was THAT friend who always had a story to tell that was better than yours. The only time I lost interest in the book was when she was describing the children's birthday parties. It was just a little too elaborate and I couldn't bear to read anymore about it I flicked on.
Overall I really enjoyed this book. It was light and fun with interesting stories. Philippa is working on a sequel to this which I will defend fly be picking up. I borrowed this from the library and I have seen it available on both book depository and fishpond.
I rate it 3 out of 5
Would I recommend it? Yes
