All About That Base

Napoleon perdis was on to something when he said 'Not to prime is a crime!'

I personally like to prime my face whenever I put make up on, as getting a good base for that even coverage of foundation is important.

I've put together my top four primer's.

MAC STROBE CREAM
This is probably my absolute favourite of primers. My holy grail. I like the thick cream consistancy that blends beautifully into the skin. I also feel like this is moisturises instantly too. A little goes a long way. I prime pretty much every day (bar a few) and a tube will last me a good 6 months.


SMASHBOX PHOTO READY PRIMER
I was given this as a gift from a friend to try as I had never tried a silicon based primer. At first I found it such a wierd consistancy and blending it felt like I was rubbing alot to get it into my skin. But after a few uses I opened up a bit more and warmed up to it. I use this one to only prime areas such as my t-zone as these are prone to get oily throughout the day but this works well in keeping it under controll.

MAYBELLINE BABY SKIN PINK TRANSFORMER

I picked this up when I went on my trip overseas this year and was very pleased I managed to get my hands on it. This add's a subtle hint of colour to my base as it primes at the same time. It is a creme primer aswell of runny consistancy. I feel like this one actually hides my breakouts quite well when I use it and it last's for the majority of the day. As cheap as it was I can't really complain!

MAYBELLINE BABY SKIN'S PORE PROFFESIONAL
This is world renowned as a dupe for benefit's porefessional. Wether you agree with that is another story, but as a primer and not comparing it to that I find it does the job well. Again this is a silicone based primer and it reduces the appearance of my pimples VERY well. I normally break out around my chin and some day's I will only prime that area with it because I know it hide's it well. You do however start to notice them 2-3 hours later.
