Following Maybelline New York on snapchat is a bad idea.
With behind the scene look's and new releases they are coming out with in the states, it makes my list of 'wants' longer and longer. Ive had my eye on a few Maybelline palette's for a while and i'm still trying to get my hands on 'the rock nudes', but meanwhile I managed to get a hold of The Blushed Nudes to have a play around with.
The Maybelline New York Blushed Nudes is a 12 shadow palette filled with rose gold and pink colours. 11 of these shades are shimmer shades with 1 matte shade thrown in there. The packaging is absolutely beautiful and a necessity for anyone who is obsessed with rose gold at the moment.They include two sponge type applicators with the palette which are handy to use on those inner corners.
These shadow's have a reasonable amount of pigmentation. You will need to use a little bit of product to achieve a strong colour but if your after a quick pop of colour for every day use then this is perfect. You can always electrify these colours by using a wet brush to apply the colour on your lid or use your finger to apply them as you can use a little more pressure. Another tip is to use this in conjunction with an eyeshadow primer and you will get a solid 7 hours of wear. Once the shadow is on your lid it blends super easily.
Personally, I find the fact that there is only one matte shade in this palette a little disappointing. Matte shade's make the perfect base colour and I feel like there should be at least 3 different colours to give us variety.
The Blushed Nudes Palette retails for between $9.99 and $12.99 from drugstores across the US. I used YouShop to get this here from drugstore.com and there is no word on the street as to when this will be available in AU/NZ.
