Having found your own signature lipstick is quite the achievement. With it comes a sense of confidence, assertiveness and self acknowledgement.
But finding the one that works for you can be quite challenging as the lipstick world if full of overwhelming choices. Matte finish? liquid? long lasting or hydrating? Not to mention that there are at least 5 shades of every typical colour that vary slightly.
But by going through these steps it will help you become one step closer to finding "the one".
It takes time.
Don't think that your going to walk into MAC and pick the first colour you see and fall in love with it. You need to try out a heap if different shades and colours, some that you may haven't even thought you would like, in order to find the one you reach for every time. It won't happen over night so don't expect it too.
Be open minded.
Like I mentioned before there are about 10 different shades of red and probably the same when it comes to brown so being open minded to what shades there are is going to help you find success faster. Try out the darker shades even if you generally go for the light shades. Play around with them and you may suprise yourself!
Know what your like - and be assertive.
There's no point in going to a beauty counter and letting the sales assistant sell you a pretty lipstick with a sticky, glossy finish if you hate the feeling on your lips. You know best when it comes to what you like the feel off. If it's a matte lipstick your after because you don't want to reapply it then make sure you tell the assistant.
Play around with the different finishes out there. Matte, glossy, satin or even a balm are all different and will feel different on your lips.
Whatever you choose - Be confident.
When you find that colour that you fall in love with im sure it will give you a confidence boost. Keep rocking it with confidence and no one will be able to criticise you. Remember what you may love may not be everyone's cup of tea but that's ok!
Have you found your signature lip colour yet? Personally mine is one of the Kate Moss by Rimmel London lipstick's in shade 10 and/or MAC RiRi Woo. As RiRi Woo was limited edition it is only used on special occasions but the Rimmel London lipstick is very very similar!
