Lifestyle // 10 Christmas Life Hacks

Good morning sunshine!

Christmas time can be the most wonderful time of the year.... or it can be the most stressful time of the year. Its super hard to get yourself, let alone everything else, organised for what some families can call the biggest day of the year. I've put together a few tipa and time saving hacks that you can have a read through that will hopefully save your sanity a little this year.

  • Christmas tree looking a bit bare? Use baby shoes and booties as ornaments.
  • Label Christmas gifts with family photos instead of gift tags. A cute idea that everyone will love when its their turn to look for their photo under the tree.

  • Don't have time to wrap everyone's presents individually? Gift bags are the answer. Or if the store asks if you want to have your items gift wrapped for an extra dollar? Do it! You may be paying $5 but saving yourself hours.

  • Alternatively, if they have an online store then do it online. You can see exactly what your spending and you avoid all the crowds.

  • If everyone is coming for lunch at your place on Christmas day use paper plates. Not the boring plain white ones, but the festively decorated ones. So that way no one has to do the washing up and it still looks a little bit fancy.

  • Stuck for a cheap gift for teachers? Make fudge and set in cookie cutter shapes for a cheap gift. Wrap in cellophane and tie with ribbon. Easy, cheap and pretty.
  • Run out of wrapping paper for the last few presents? Wrap in one of your child's paintings from pre school.
  • Make sure you have a little bit of play dough near by. Dab it over the glitter from your children and the tree and it easily collects every last spec so you won't be catching glimpses of it two weeks after Christmas.
  • Another insanely easy gift for children? A jar of candy cane play dough.

  • Don't feel the pressure to bake everything yourself. It's OK to buy the pavlova or buy a pre cooked chicken. No one needs to know! Your guests still get fed and you save a few hours.
