Hi guys!
I've been finding myself watching a lot of mum's on youtube lately who have kids in similar age to mine (4 and 9 months). One of those people I stumbled across was a British youtuber named Alex Galdwin who also blog's over at Bump To Baby. Alex has also recently done the #mumlife raw tag and I thought what a great idea to get to know other mum's and their parenting style.
I'm going to nominate some other mum's at the end of this post so keep reading to see if you have been tagged!
❤ Describe your day as a mum today in one word.
Busy. Life with two is definately busy. Even when one is at kindergarten I'm still rushing around trying to get odd jobs and housework done before it's pick up time.
❤ What's the most challenging part about connecting with other mums
Making that first move and crossing that line from "hi ! I see you at kindy every day" to "do you want to come over and have the children play while we drink wine?" (Well maybe not wine in the beginning!) But I feel like the first step is the hardest. Its such a risk. Do you have similar parenting values? Are you on the same page? Do you have anything in common! Being vulnerable is tricky.
❤Share one horrible poop moment - we've all been there!
Well, M must have been about eight months old and he had been pretty miserable with a virus. His poop was so runny that it bubbled out the top of his nappy and all up his back. The worst part was when you lay him down to change you new it was going to push it up even further. He was straight into the bath!
❤How do you cope with public meltdown's and tantrums?
Thankfully we have passed that stage with M now but I know that with our second it will be coming up. I try to divert. So if I see a meltdown coming on I distract with whatever I can , even if it means pretending to be excited about seeing a red car parked outside!
❤Honestly how much screen time does your child have?
We love peppa pig. And the eight hour marathons on YouTube. We normally blob out after kindy and before dinner with a bit of TV but then there's no TV after dinner.
❤What's your go to easy dinner that you have atleast once a week?
Probably egg and toast! M will quite often have two boiled eggs and no toast (he's a bit of a tank with all that protein!)
❤Did you yell, cry or struggle today?
I think today was a good day. Everyone has had a good day and haven't had to yell or cry. Although bedtime was a little struggle - as per usual.
❤What was the best moment of your day so far?
It was at the end of the day when saying goodnight. We have a 'thing' where he tells me I'm his best friend always. Its those little things!
❤What is your secret guilty pleasyre to reward your mumlife?
Wine! I love moscato and rose. I have a glass sometimes in the evening when the kids are in bed. Since becoming dairy free I am also obsessed with raspberry licorice so have been sneaking into the kitchen and sating that!
❤How often do you experience mum guilt?
Probably more than I should.
❤Share one taboo thing about motherhoood yout hink should be talked about more.
Co sleeping. Its so common yet it's so taboo. I often find myself having conversations with other mums and as soon as sleeping comes up we both start walking on egg shells. Its not until one of us says 'yeah he ends up in bed with me just so we get a few more hours sleep " that they say oh god yes me too . And its like suddenly you have connected on a different level and there's no need to tip toe around each other.
Im going to nominate my friend Bunny from Glowmama to do the #mumlife raw tag. If you don't already follow Bunny then check her out on facebook as Glowmama to read her tag!
