This winter seems to be long and cold. So while I've been sat over here summer dreaming and looking at my friends abroad who are enjoying their Europe summers, a cute wee sunblock arrived in my letterbox.

My children have very fair skin and burn really easily (soz guys). My eldest is similar to his dad and goes tan whenever the sun touches him but my youngest is still so young I don't want him in too much sun as he will burn very easily. So I'm being prepared for summer and having a great baby sunscreen on hand.

COOLA is a beautiful brand who have recently launched a 'Mineral Baby Stick'. It is so freaking adorably packaged with cute colours. You get 1 Oz / 29g worth of product for $45.00. It is the perfect size to slip into your nappy/beach bag and it wont get lost at the bottom of the bag.

So while it may seem odd to be talking about sunscreen in winter it is important to note that the UVA/UVB rays are exactly the same as summer. UVB rays can come through windows so if your sunbathing in the lounge (if that tickles your fancy) you still need to think of some sort of every day skin protection.

COOLA mineral baby sunscreen stick is SPF 50, unscented and 80 minutes water resistance. These are crucial in the summer as we know just how harsh the New Zealand sun is.

The baby mineral sunscreen stick contains 70+ organic ingredients including chamomile extract which acts as a skin barrier, Shea butter to keep the skin soft and nourished and avocado oil which is hydrating and soothing.

I've been using this on my wee babes skin for the last week and I love how great it is to easily roll on and cover the little ones before they run off. I can say that it works pretty well in winter but for real results I'll have to update you in the warmer months. For best results apply 15 minutes before heading into the sun.

My advice is to pick one of these up from selected pharmacies, resort spa's or boutiques before summer rolls around so that you are prepared.
