Good morning gorgeous!
If you have been following me on any of my social media channels you will be aware we have recently had a Paw Patrol Party for M’s birthday.
What really helped me in my search for paw patrol ideas was seeing a post done by another blogger on where she got her decorations and games from so I hope from writing this post it will help someone with their paw patrol obsessed young one.
Decorations
Our decorations were kept pretty simple. Mainly because we knew that the kids would be spending most of their time outside. I still wanted to set the theme a little though so we grabbed a helium tank plus a couple foil balloons. I purchased a Marshall and a Chase foil balloon about six weeks in advanced and they were perfect.
My son made the bunting we hung up at pre school which he was so proud of and it was a nice touch.
Cake
Our cake was made by my favourite cake maker. We have used her for the last couple of years. She is affordable and does a fantastic job. Check out her work here.
Food
Food was pretty standard for a kiwi kids birthday. It included the necessities like fairy bread, Cheerios, savories and a few treats my son really wanted such as snakes in jelly.
Games
We kept the games to a minimum as we just wanted the kids to have a good time with the entertainment we had and enjoy their friends. The one thing that my son wanted was a piƱata. Given it’s not a paw patrol one, it is a fire truck which he had wanted forever.
Entertainment -
Face painting
We had a face painter come along and we were lucky enough to get Jennifer from Imagine Face Painting and Entertainment. Jennifer hadn’t ever previously painted a paw patrol character before however she gave it a good shot and it turned out fantastic. We had beautiful butterflies, spider men and even a green dragon running around.
Everyone I spoke to at the party commented on how talented Jennifer was. To be able to do a perfect butterfly on a wriggly five year old and make it look good is such a skill!
It wasn’t only face’s Jennifer painted, she also did hands and arms. Perfect for those kids who aren’t quite sure if they want their face painted but still want a little something.
Also, not just for adults! I couldn’t resist getting a wee butterfly with a little sparkle.
Bouncy castle
We hired our bouncy castle through Maniacs Castle Hire. To be honest, I probably wouldn’t hire through them again if I could avoid it. We had to use them as they were one of the only people who’s castles could be used in the rain and we had a 90% chance of bad weather.
Communication was far and few between. I had to call three times to get hold of someone and there was no cellphone number as an alternative. They did set up and take it down but we were left waiting for an extra thirty minutes after our party had finished for them to come and collect. We didn’t have that spare time to be waiting and I wish communication would have been a lot easier.
I hope my post helps someone with a paw patrol crazed little person in their house plan their birthday.
Lipstick and love!
