Motherhood // A Wonderful Idea

Childhood memories

Good morning mamas!

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted but life gets away on us sometimes. It’s so busy it’s like our year has been moving in “fast forward”. We have hit milestones this year in our children’s lives and had hurdles thrown at us which we have overcome. But how do we keep track of everything? The saying that the days are long but the years are short  is 100% true so it is super important we write down those things we wish to remember.

There is nothing quite like the feel of a baby book. Writing beautiful handwritten notes throughout their childhood is priceless. But in a world where it’s increasingly becoming so technological how do we keep those videos and snapchats we take? I’ve got a couple ideas below to help you keep those memories.

* Create a private YouTube channel.
YouTube isn’t just for monetising videos on. You can se your video to totally private or to a custom setting where only those with the specific link to the video can view it. It is a great place to upload family videos or kindergarten graduations. Then you can also play it back to your kids via your Tv if you have the likes of a chromecast or Apple TV.

* Create a personal email address for your child.
This wonderful idea links in with the above. As soon as my kids turned one I put down the baby book and created them an email address. This is where I send special memories, favourite videos and those “childhood interview” questions. If you create a gmail account you can also add a “file” to their drive with all the links to the personal and private YouTube videos specifically of them.

What wonderful motherhood ideas do you do for your children? I have heard some mothers write birthday letters every year and give them to their children on their 21st birthday. Is there anything you would like to start doing as a tradition?
