Hi beauties!
Im here again to share with you some of the new releases from L'Oreal. You would have caught my matte lippy's post and if you didn't you can read it here.
If there is one mascara that I have had my eye on alot lately, it's L'Oreal Paris' Miss Manga. This caught my attention purely because of the packaging. I think the fuchsia purple and the black looks so sleek and cute that I wanted it to have a permanent place in my handbag.

One thing I haven't done in a while is reviewed a mascara. I find myself so caught up in the sea of colours that are lipstick's that I forget about all the other wonderful make up tools we have.
One of those being mascara. And one that I reach for most day's is MAC's The Falsies.
This mascara claims to offer "volume and a unique curl with it's unique double-lush brush."
The packaging of The Falsies is nothing amazing. It's a standard tube of mascara with a little detail at the top end. As always, it has MAC's classic look of white writing on the black tube. I do like the consistancy that MAC's packaging has.
I brought this mascara because my friends had claimed that it was 'Totally amazing" and I wanted to try something new from MAC's Haute and Naughty which is my holy grail mascara. But I think that I had set the bar to high.
It does define your lashes with little clumping, but doesn't offer much in the way of volume. If anything I would say that this mascara seperates your lashes with a light curl.
I get about 6 hours wear out of The Falsies before needing to reapply. I would say that this mascara is best used for every day wear, perfect for when you want to look awake but feel half asleep!
It sells for $22USD of the MAC website, but unfortunately it will set you back around $30NZD from a MAC duty free counter.

I hope you all had a wonderful rest and are ready to tackle the day head on.
Ive recently re discovered Maybelline Pro Extension's XXL mascara. When I brought this a year ago, I was after something that gave the same effect as Maybelline's The Falsies (My fav drug store mascara) but a little more length. Also, as i'm not 100% confident with applying eyelashes I thought this could be great as an alternative for every day wear.
After a week of using it I threw it out. I didn't like it. But I thought I would give it another chance. I have read lots of blog post's on it and thought that because there was so many positive reviews, I will try again.
This mascara has two steps to it. 1)- Primer. I don't understand why the primer is white? If it was black it would be just as effective. and 2) - The mascara part.
I applied this first by using the primer. As an avid primer user, I guess there isn't any harm in applying a primer to your lashes. To me, because it's white so in my mind i'm like 'this is like gluuuue, eww' . But that's ok. Then after applying the mascara straight after you can definitely notice the increased volume.
The packaging is sleek and effective, It's a slim mascara, so it can fit easily in your handbag.
The best thing about this mascara is that it doesn't budge at all. Its waterproof, cry proof, hayfever proof, life proof! But that is also my negative point. To get it off, you can't just wash your face. You have to use a make up remover and be a little tough. I like to use water only around my eye area because its so sensitive!
So overall I will continue to use this mascara, especially over summer. I'm glad i've given it a second chance. It proved me wrong! :)

Many moons ago when I was traveling through Asia I saw a MAC store at duty free. Interested to see what the fuss was about MAC I asked for a versatile mascara tht provided volume and length and I was given MAC haute and naughty.
This amazing mascara has two components to it. A wand for daytime and a wand for night time. The day time brush is thinner. It provides length and seperates each individual lash so you don't get clumping.
The "night" wand has a midnight black colour and provides length like no other. It provides the highly dramatic lashes that you can get away with wearing at night time.
