Can you believe that we are in December! Who would have thought that the year had gone by so quickly.
One of my favorite type's of post's to read at the end of the year is everyone's best in beauty/favorite product's so I thought i'd share with you all mine.
Starting with my favorite base product this year is tough. I feel like this was the year that everyone found out that you could use the Nivea After Shave Balm as a primer and it would hold your makeup all day. While I do love this product and even more how affordable it is, I think the scent does make you smell like a man and I don't mind it every now and again - but not every day. MAC Strobe Cream is my ultimate base. It makes your skin look healthy and glowy while holding your make up. It's unscented and seep's into your skin beautifully.
I'm yet to find my holy grail foundation but i'm hoping that will change soon as I have a few on my wish list that I can now purchase easily from Mecca. However for 2016 I found that I was reaching more and more for Elizabeth Arden's Flawless Finish bare Perfection foundation. This foundation has an SPF of 8 so you don't get too much flash back in photo's and it honestly makes your skin look flawless.
Mac launched some pretty sweet collections throughout the year and in the MACnificent collection was their blush 'A Little Lusty'. This blush grew on me and I realized that the berry-ness of the blush was actually what I needed for my skin tone. Blend's beautifully, doesn't streak and add's a nice bit of warmth to my cheeks.
Highlighting products were outrageous this year. Some girls went waaaaaay over the top and were dripping in highlight but for the most of us a little sparkle was all we needed to enhance our shine. Hand's down this category goes to Sleek Makeup with their 'Solstice' Palette. Beeeeaaauuutttiiifffuuulll.
Mascara's are something that I looooove. I think long lashes enhance your eyes and make you look super feminine. Benefit Roller Lash is my winner of this category. However it would have to be closley followed by benefit's They're Real mascara too. The curl on Roller Lash is amazing and hold's for so long throughout the day.
Eye shadow Palette's are something which I aimed to grow this year. My collection had been limited and I decided to add a few more. Im hoping to get my hands on a couple too faced palette's over the Christmas period so i'm gutted to not be including them in this category yet. BUT that being said I have really been impressed with the quiality of some 'drugstore' palette's. Make Up Revolution Salvation Palette is my winner because of the colour range and pigmentation of their shades. Something a bit different but they blend easily allowing you to create the colours and look's that your after.
So these are my favorite product's in each category. I'd love to hear what your absolute favorite product of 2016 was down below!
