Good morning lovelies!
It's just about the most wonderful time of the year.
I can't believe that it is nearly that time again. My son has been asking to put the tree up since June, Santa has been talked about everyday for a few week's and i've threatened to cancel Christmas ten thousand times already.
I'm a huge fan of Christmas traditions. In my family, Dad always makes us a shandy (half beer + lemonade) on Christmas Eve. We also make an evening of driving around town looking at the beautifully decorated houses's with lights.
In my own wee family I have not only kept those traditions (they're not old enough for a shandy yet but one day!) but have added some. We always take a 'Christmas Card photo. This years theme was ugly Christmas jersey's) , the boys have a Christmas Eve box where they open it the night before and have a few treats and we have an Elf On The Shelf.
Elf On The Shelf is a small elf that comes direct from the North Pole to help create that magical Christmas spirit. He is Santa's eye's and ears that listen's and watches each day then reports back to the man in red at night. When he returns to your place before your children wake he creates all sort's of mischief.
When your children wake in the morning it's always so exciting to see what your elf has got up too weather hes fishing in the bathroom sink or is tangled in the tinsel around the tree.
The biggest thing to remember is not to touch the elf. Should your kid touch the elf his magic disappear's for three days and he is sent to elf hospital (Mums - this is your chance to catch a break for three days! No elf!)
There is a story that you can purchase to read to your kids about the elf or alternatively there is a short youtube video that Children LOVE and you can watch it ***here***
If you are after some idea's on what ELF could get up check out this post I did a few years ago with a few ideas! (CLICK HERE).
