Graham Norton // A Keeper

Graham Norton A Keeper

Hey gorgeous!
When I say the name Graham Norton you are probably more inclined to think about the big red chair. Or possibly even his wine range. But Graham Norton is a man of many crafts and has released his second novel, A Keeper.

A Keeper by Graham Norton covers the fictional story of the disappearance of Elizabeth’s father. A mystery that has never been solved. Her mother Patricia had been assumed a spinster until she began dating a mysterious man from hit of town and within months had left town and married. Less than two years later Patricia was back with a new baby but no husband and unbendingly silent about her recent past. A secret that she would take with her to the grave.

Having not read Graham’s first novel (Holding) I was more than impressed by him as a writer. His ability to write this novel in two time frames (the past and presently) however not to confuse the reader is well done. He paints a poignant picture of the bleakness when they revisit a now unoccupied childhood home and paints pictures of the types of relatives who try to get their hands on things from the house.

I encourage you to put Graham Norton’s TV persona into the far back of your head. He writes nothing like his persona on television and if your afraid to read it because you find him extravagant then don’t be be put off - you will be pleasantly surprised with how he writes.

I am a Graham Norton fan. The talk show, the comedy, the wine and now the book. This would make a great summer read or Christmas gift for loved ones.
